For Culture Night 2012 Art Hive are presenting a showcase of members work.

There will also be a taster of Violeta Pseractaite’s new performance project called Wild Woman and the Goddess Within.  Awaken your senses through the experience of colour, symbols, scents, music, character and clothes. According to Violeta, “through the creative imagination, this event bridges our mind body and soul. Women as wives and mothers, daughters and sisters have their own world, full of feminine beauty and ritual.” Light refreshments served including herbal teas.

The showcase of members work also includes two new artists-in-residence Robin Daly and Emma Hogan who have both recently joined Art Hive’s studio in Lagganstown. New members Catherine Starling and Tishi O’Malley are also exhibiting along with members Ian Mannion, Dennis Ryan and Brigid Teehan.

Guest artist Blanche Starling is also exhibiting in the window space.

Blue Print at Eigse 2012

Some of our members are participating in the The Tullow Street Popup Project programme of the Eigse Carlow Arts Festival exhibition courtesy of The Blue Print, an artists cooperative based in the Carlow area. The venue is Buzz's Cafe Bar, 7 Tullow Street (map), in the town centre. The exhibition is curated by locally based artist Brandon McLane, who brings his experience of the San Fransisco art scene to down-town Carlow. There's three floors of a very eclectic mix of contemporary representational and abstract art, video, live performance and animation. Oh, and gory art-house(?!) zombie flicks...
